How to Play Stick Jump

From first tap to record-breaking runs — everything you need to know

The Basics

Stick Jump has one control — click (or tap). Master it and you master the game.

1

Observe the Gap

Each turn places your stickman on a platform with a gap to the next one. The distance between platforms changes every round, so you need to judge the gap visually before you act. Take a quick look — do not rush.

2

Press and Hold

Click your mouse button (desktop) or tap and hold the screen (mobile) to start growing the stick. The longer you hold, the longer the stick extends upward. The stick grows at a constant speed, so timing is everything.

3

Release to Drop

When you think the stick is the right length, release. The stick falls forward and (hopefully) bridges the gap to the next platform. If it lands on the platform, your stickman walks across safely.

4

Score and Repeat

Each successful crossing earns you one point. The stickman moves to the new platform and a fresh gap appears. The game continues until you miss — too short and you fall, too long and the stick overshoots into the void.

5

Game Over & Retry

When you fall, your score is displayed. You can instantly restart and try to beat your personal record. No waiting, no loading — just tap and you are back in the action.

💡 Pro Tips & Advanced Techniques

1 Count in your head — develop a rhythm for common gap sizes to build muscle memory.
2 Aim for the center of the platform, not the edge. This gives you the most margin for error.
3 Stay calm after long streaks — most players fail not because the gap is hard, but because nerves kick in.
4 Focus on the destination platform, not the stick itself. Your peripheral vision will handle the rest.
5 Practice in short sessions. Studies show reflex games improve faster with 10-minute bursts than marathon sessions.
6 It is okay to slightly overshoot — a stick that is a bit too long is better than one that is too short.

Game FAQ

The gap widths are randomized, so technically the difficulty does not scale linearly. However, the randomness means you will eventually encounter very wide or very narrow gaps that test your precision.
Stick Jump is a reaction-based game and does not have a built-in pause feature. Since each turn only takes a few seconds, you can naturally pause by not pressing anything between turns.
Once the game has loaded in your browser, it may work offline depending on your browser's cache. However, we recommend a live connection for the best experience.
